NFPA 58
Training change made in NFPA 58 code
July 1, 2010The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) approved a change in training requirements for propane personnel for the 2011 NFPA 58 code. The new version of the code will require that industry personnel be trained in the following: to recognize the safety and health hazards of working with propane; to use safe work practices; know how to respond to an emergency; be provided with supervised, on-the-job training; and be tested and have one’s performance evaluated. This change was proposed by the U.S. Chemical Safety Board.
